Insertion in their local neighbourhoods is important to all Daughters of Charity. Being WITH and FOR people is central to our Christian Vocation as Catholic Sisters.
On 8th December, Daughters of Charity from the Carlisle Place community went to the In-Deep Carol Concert at Westminster Kingsway College to support Sr Anne DC who is a choir member. It was a great evening enjoying favourite Christmas Carols and Songs with our neighbours
Since 2014, In-Deep has run an over 50s choir who enjoy singing a range of songs from the 50s, 60s, musicals and right up to the present day. No audition is necessary and everyone is welcome, regardless of experience. It has a professional conductor and accompanist and performs several concerts each year.
Singing has been shown to support physical and mental wellbeing, improve breathing, and most of all – it is fun! The choir has been enormously beneficial, especially to those with breathing difficulties and those suffering from depression as it has helped alleviate their symptoms.
