A very happy Jubilee, Ma’am!
On 6th February 2022 Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary a number of events and initiatives have taken place culminating in a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June. These events included: The Trooping of the Colour, the lighting of Platinum Jubilee Beacons, a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, the Epsom Derby, the Party at the Palace, the Big Jubilee Lunch and the Jubilee Pageant. These celebrations have given so many a great sense of hope and joy to so many people the world over. As Daughters of Charity, we have celebrated in our local DC communities, in our Mission Hearts and with the people in our parishes, services and neighbourhoods. We offer our love, thanks and prayers for Queen Elizabeth II and pray that her life of service to others may encourage us in our own vocation of service to those who need our love and support.
